The 4th Tyrannosaurus Race will be held at Nakajo Sasayama Jomon Hiroba in conjunction with the Tokamachi Snow Festival, a major winter event in Tokamachi City, Niigata Prefecture. The Nakajo Area Promotion Association, the organizer of the race, is currently recruiting participants for the race.

The Tyrannosaurus Race is a race in which participants dress up in dinosaur costumes and run at full speed. The “Iyano-no-Sato Jomon Support Club,” which guides visitors to Jomon-era ruins and holds events related to the Jomon period, holds this race to introduce people of all ages to the Sasayama Ruins, where a national treasure was excavated.

On the day of February 16 (Sun.), “Preparation Dance,” “20-meter Snow Race” and “Snow Obstacle Race” will be held at Sasayama Jomon Hiroba, one of the Snow Festival’s festival plazas. Reservations are not required for the children’s race, and participation is free of charge.

The Support Club is now accepting participants for the Tyrannosaurus Race. The race is open to junior high school students and older, and the maximum number of participants is approximately 25 boys and girls. Participants are required to purchase a designated Tyrannosaurus air suit or apply for a rental one in advance. Please apply for entry on the dedicated website.

It is also the site of the Tokamachi Snow Festival’s festival plaza, where visitors can experience jumbo slides and snow rafting, and there will be a lineup of restaurants and a corner selling goods.
