Tsunan Sunflower Plaza, located on the Okinohara Plateau in Tsunan Town, is a 4-hectare field where about 500,000 hybrid sunflowers, a variety of ornamental sunflower, are grown, making it a local tourist attraction.
According to the executive committee of the plaza, the blooming started around July 17. The second field is at the eighth minute of blooming, and the third field will be at its best around the time of the Bon Festival.
The field has an observation deck overlooking the plaza, offering a panoramic view of the vast landscape and sunflowers glowing yellow as far as the eye can see. The three fields are sown about a week apart to allow visitors to appreciate the flowers longer, and the plaza will be open until August 18, after the Bon Festival. The plaza will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For more information, please visit the website of the Tsunan Tourist Association.
