It is a 10-minute drive from the Itoigawa IC on the Hokuriku Expressway. Located near the mouth of the Himegawa River, this auto campground has the Sea of Japan right in front of it.
Opened in the summer of 2016. Adjacent to Suzawa Beach, known for its jade that can be picked up, the surrounding waterfront park is equipped with a multipurpose plaza with large playground equipment, an 18-hole putting golf course, basketball court, and skateboarding area, making it a perfect family campground for children and adults.
The auto camping area is equipped with 15 lots, 6 with power and 9 without power. Day trips are also available. The camping space is grass and no open flames are allowed. Camping equipment is not available for rent. The campground is closed during the winter months of December through March.

When you arrive at the campground, visit the administration building in the park across the street. Here you will be able to check in, apply, and receive your key. Check-in starts at 3:00 pm. Check-out time is 10:00 the next morning.
The ocean extends to the west of the campground, offering a panoramic view of the Sea of Japan. The sunset over the Sea of Japan while listening to the sound of the waves is truly spectacular. Suzawa Beach is known for its jade, and is also one of the best fishing spots in the city, and is crowded with anglers during the season. There are many ways to enjoy the area. On the opposite side of the beach, there is a basketball court, a half-pipe for skateboarding, and a putting golf course. It is a great place to enjoy camping + α to the fullest.

Fossa Magma Museum, a stone museum, is located near the campground
Fossa Magna Museum
A 15-minute drive from the campground is the Fossa Magna Museum, a stone museum. This is an earth museum where visitors can learn about the natural environment, the blessings of resources, and natural disasters, including the beautiful mineral jade, which is representative of Itoigawa, and the Fossa Magna, a rift in the earth at the time the Japanese archipelago was created.

Jade Coast
From the campground, drive about 10 minutes on Route 8 toward Joetsu and you will find “Jade Beach. You will see a signboard along Route 8. This is also known as a beach where jade can be picked up. Pebbles washed into the sea from the mountains of Itoigawa over a long period of time are spread out along the coast, and on holidays, the area is crowded with anglers and people enjoying the search for jade. If you are lucky, you may find jade! For an appraisal of the stones, visit the Fossa Magna Museum.
In addition, there is a hot-spring bath facility “Happinesu” located 1 minute by car from the campground. Please make use of it.
