Bijinrin, a beech forest in Matsunoyama, Tokamachi City, Niigata Prefecture.
It was a beech forest with no name, but after the trees were cut down at the end of the Taisho era (1912-1926), they sprouted en masse, and the size of the trees became uniform. The beauty of the trees has led them to be called the most beautiful “beauty forests(Bijinrin)” in Japan. Please enjoy the lingering snow and the budding forest.
