The citizen group “Riverside Dream Story” grows the cosmos. Akizo Tsukakoshi, the representative of the group, first sowed seeds 22 years ago to encourage a friend who was hospitalized at the hospital near the riverbed.
Last year, the seeds were not sown due to COVID-19. But this year, the 4th grade students of Joetsu Municipal Kasuga Shinden Elementary School also participated and helped with garbage picking and sowing.
The seeds were sown in September, and now the pink cosmos and white cosmos are in full bloom, There are several shades of color. Unfortunately, the weather was cloudy on November 2nd (Tuesday), but many people enjoyed taking pictures while strolling through the cosmos fields. The best time to see them is over the next few weeks.
