[Video] A flower field that shines high in the sky! The best time to see the flowers near the Hikarigahara Plateau (Itakura-Ward, Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture)

Buckwheat flowers are in full bloom on the Hikarigahara Plateau in Itakuraku-ku, Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture. Buckwheat is planted on approximately 12 hectares of ranch site on the Hikarigahara Plateau at an altitude of around 1000 meters.

The variety is “Toyomusume”. It is raised by Mr. Seizo Arai of “Dogata no Sato Production Association”. Buckwheat flowers began to bloom late last month and are in full bloom now.

The flowers can be enjoyed until around the 20th of this month. After the flowers are finished, the harvest will start in mid-October, and buckwheat flour will be sold on the Internet etc. around the end of November.
