We are looking for participants for an experience tour where you can enjoy the sights and culture of Joetsu City!

Based in the 100-year-old restaurant “Ukiyo” in Nakamachi, Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture, the “100-year-old restaurant Ukiyo-based local production, discovery, and experience tour” will be held from May, where you can enjoy restaurant cuisine and tour cultural attractions in Joetsu City.We are currently looking for tour participants.

Nakamachi, Joetsu City 3 100-year-old restaurant Ukiyo

The tour is planned by the “Takada Machinaka Tourism Promotion Council” so that people inside and outside the region can widely know about Joetsu City’s various specialties, cultural attractions, and hot new spots.Currently, six tours have been announced. The schedule and each course are as follows, and the recruitment capacity is 10 people for each course.

Visiting the “Hosaka House”, a mansion of a wealthy farmer, and an old folk house on Tonome Gangi Streets

 

Ukiyo — Hosaka House (Taste the house / garden guide and matcha) — Walk along Tonome Gangi Street — Philips House (House guide) — Ukiyo or Takada station square

Departure dates: May 23 (Sun), June 13 (Sun), June 26 (Sat), July 3 (Sat), July 22 (Thu / holiday)
Price: 13,800 yen (tax included with special lunch at the restaurant)

 


To Iwanohara Vineyard, the founder of “Father of Japanese Wine Grape, Zenbei Kawakami”

Ukiyo — Iwanohara Vineyard (Yukimuro storage and winery tour, wine tasting and shopping) — Ukiyo or Takada station square

Departure dates: May 16th (Sun), June 21st (Mon), June 26th (Sat), July 11th (Sun), July 31st (Sat), August 8th (Sun)
Price: 14,000 yen (tax included with special lunch at the restaurant)

 


Experience making batten lace to enjoy in a townhouse

Ukiyo — Takada Sekaikan (Exterior only) — Takada Komachi (Visit) — Former Imai Dyeing Shop (Experience making batten lace in Machiya architecture) — Ukiyo or Takada station square

Departure dates: May 29th (Sat), June 6th (Sun), June 20th (Sun), July 18th (Sun), July 24th (Sat), August 8th (Sun)
Price: 14,000 yen (tax included with special lunch at the restaurant)

 


Experience the traditional craft art “Kumiko coaster making”

Ukiyo — Inomata Art Joinery Store (Experience making Kumiko coasters with explanation and guidance) — Ukiyo or Takada station square

Departure dates: May 29th (Sat), June 19th (Sat), July 4th (Sun)
Price: 15,000 yen (tax included with special lunch at the restaurant)

 


Hundred Years Shopping Street: Visiting picture signs and “Japanese sweets making experience”

Ukiyo — Strolling around the 100-year shopping street — Sugita Miso Brewery — Osugiya Sobei Oumadashi (mini Japanese sweets making experience) — Walking around the 100-year shopping street — Ukiyo or Takada station square

Departure dates: May 30th (Sun), June 20th (Sun), July 11th (Sun)
Price: 11,600 yen (tax included with special lunch at the restaurant)

 


Go to “Japan’s First Goze Museum” while strolling along the townhouse and Gangi street

All courses will meet at the 100-year-old restaurant “Ukiyo”, tour the building of a nationally registered tangible cultural property, and enjoy a special lunch at the restaurant.

After that, walk or take a taxi to go around each course. The application deadline is 5 days before each departure date. The application deadline will be closed as soon as the capacity reaches 10 people.

In addition to the tours introduced this time, six more courses will be added after Golden Week. looking forward to!
