Ikenotaira Onsen Alpenblick Ski Resort is located southeast of Mt. Myoko and is only 5 minutes from the Myoko Kogen IC.
Myoko’s top-class wide slopes, which take advantage of the magnificent foot of Mt. Myoko, are its greatest feature, allowing a wide range of skiers to ski safely and comfortably.
The slopes have 5 lifts and 16 courses. The wide, gentle slopes are designed to minimize accidents while skiing, and most of the courses are beginner and intermediate courses (50% beginner, 40% intermediate, and 10% advanced). There are also non-pressured areas, hiking up areas (backcountry), and snow parks for your enjoyment.
Another attraction is the 4-kilometer-long cruise that takes you from the speedy mid-slopes to the gentle slopes in the woods that remain calm. The open atmosphere with a view of Lake Nojiri with Mt. Myoko in the background will refresh you both physically and mentally.
Except for a few courses designed for advanced skiers, everyone from small children to the elderly can enjoy safe and comfortable skiing.
The slopes are also equipped with an “Alpine Brick Snow Park” that can be enjoyed by beginner and intermediate skiers. It has a wide range of items, mainly boxes and rails, for use by people of all levels.
Spread out at the bottom of the 1st Pair Lift boarding area is a safe and secure “Kids’ Garden” surrounded by netting on all sides. Moving belts have been installed for easy access to the top, and free sledding is also available. The Kids’ Garden is open only on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
Please also check out the Ikenotaira section of “Ella and Jimi’s Joetsu-Myoko Machiaruki,” a popular section in Snow Country Journey.
