On Saturday, September 14, “QUON Chocolate & DEMI-SEC Niigata Joetsu Store,” a store specializing in chocolate and baked goods, will open in Nakamachi 3-chome, Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture.

QUON Chocolate is a chocolate specialty store with its head office in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. It has 40 stores nationwide, and the Niigata Joetsu store is the second store in Niigata Prefecture, following Niigata City.

It is located in Nakamachi 3-chome, Joetsu City, near the Taga Tea Roasting Plant and Ukiyo Ryotei. The exterior of the building is decorated with gan-gi, a traditional Japanese wild goose tree, as is typical of Takada, Joetsu City.

This store sells a variety of handmade products made from pure chocolate without any extra oil, and the packaging of the products is also carefully selected and appreciated as gifts.

Koji Natsume, the representative of QUON Chocolate, aims to create an uneven and colorful society that leaves no one behind. His efforts include promoting the employment of people with disabilities by conveying the appeal and power of chocolate to people and businesses that serve people with disabilities.

The Niigata Joetsu store is also operated by Ide Juku, which runs a tutoring school and welfare office, and staff and users of the welfare office “Mata Asu Labo” work together as staff to produce chocolates and baked goods, wrap them, and serve customers.

The store will be co-located with QUON Chocolate demi-sec, a baked goods specialty store operated by QUON Chocolate.

From inside the store, visitors can watch the staff at work in the kitchen making chocolates and other items.

A popular product is the QUON Terrine.

As the name suggests, this chocolate is cut into the shape of a terrine, a French dish. The mouth-watering chocolate is filled with dried fruits and nuts, giving it a new texture.

There are a wide variety, about 150 types in total, but the Niigata Joetsu store sells 30 types. Berry Berry,” which combines berry chocolate with dried strawberries and other ingredients, and ‘Noir,’ which combines bitter chocolate with orange peel, are popular.

Among them are a number of local flavors that combine delicious ingredients from all over Japan. The lineup to be sold will be changed sequentially.

On the other hand, the representative product of demi-sec is “Quonchet”. These baked sweets are made with fermented butter from Hokkaido, and are characterized by their dark browned and firm texture.

In addition to plain, there is a “dip” covered with chocolate, and a “decoration” topped with dried fruits and nuts on top of it, offering a richly varied lineup.

Other products sold include cookies, tablets (chocolate boards), discovery (basic chocolate), chocolate in a can, waffle crunch, fruit minis, and baked goods. In the future, the company plans to sell these popular products in sets that combine them.

In addition, ice cream and drinks are sold in the store.

There are two types of ice cream: soft-serve ice cream with plenty of chocolate and “supreme ice cream.
