This canned food is sold at the long-established “Maruto Utasiro Confectionery” in Ogata Ward, Joetsu City. Ogata Ward’s specialty “Fig” is canned so that it can be eaten all year round. The traditional taste has been preserved for over 110 years.

The figs are cultivated by the local residents of Ogata Ward using the native species, Hosaishi. Maruto Utasiro confectionery finishes it in a syrup. The production method has not changed. The figs are harvested in early September and soaked in a syrup made of granulated sugar and water for about 3 months. It uses no other additives and is characterized by a light sweetness.
It is recommended to eat after cooling a little
