Sixty Koinobori (carp streamers) have been raised again this year at Benten Iwa in Nou, Itoigawa City, Niigata Prefecture, and are swimming in the sky, catching the spring breeze.
Sixty carp streamers are displayed along the 200-meter stretch between Benten Iwa and National Route 8 on the Nou beach. They were donated by local residents to the Nou Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and have been displayed every year for the past 30 years at this time.
On the 25th, under blue skies, people enjoyed taking pictures.
A visitor
I came here because it was windy and sunny, so I thought it would be perfect (for photography). I think I was able to take good pictures under the blue sky.”
I went to the red torii gate. It was beautiful.
The Nouveau Commerce and Industry Association says, “We hope everyone can see and enjoy the festival. The Koinobori will be displayed until May 20.
The Nouveau Chamber of Commerce and Industry is still accepting donations of carp streamers no longer needed at home. For more information, please contact the Nou Shoukoukai.
