As hot days continue, I shoot and tour the waterfalls around Joetsu Myoko to provide coolness. This time, I would like to introduce “So Waterfall” near Tsubame Onsen, Myoko City.
【So Waterfall】
Sotaki is about 30 minutes on foot from Tsubame Onsen, Myoko City, the final stop on Prefectural Road 39. It is a waterfall that covers Okurazawa, upstream of the Otagiri River at an altitude of about 1,300 m, with a drop of about 80 m. It has been selected as one of the 100 most beautiful waterfalls in Japan. The waterfall contains hot spring ingredients, and the smell of sulfur can enter. The surrounding area is a magnificent mountain stream where “Anzangan” stands, and you can enjoy the scenery of the waterfalls of all four seasons.
*To view the waterfall, use the promenade from Tsubame Onsen, but it is currently closed due to landslides. For viewing, please use the observatory near the Tsubame Onsen Ugon hot spring. I can’t go to see the waterfall in winter because of snow Tel: Myoko Tourism Bureau 0255-86-3911So Waterfall
Access: About 20 minutes by car from the Joshinetsu Expressway Myoko Kogen IC. 30 minutes walk from Tsubame Onsen
