January 21 (Sunday) is the birth day of the warlord “Uesugi Kenshin”. In conjunction with this event, special edition stamps of Kasuga-yama Castle and Takada Castle will be distributed at the Joetsu City Archaeological Center and the Joetsu City Museum of History in Niigata Prefecture for a limited time on January 21 (Sun.).
Lord Uesugi Kenshin was born as the youngest son of Nagao Tamekage, the Echigo governor. This year marks his 494th birthday.
The special edition stamp distributed this time differs from the usual one in that the name of the castle is in gold letters. The stamp of the 494th anniversary of his birth and the stamp of Kenshin Umaue are stamped on it.

■Fee: 300 yen each (limited to 300 copies each)
■Contents: A special version of the castle seal with “Date of birth of Kenshin Uesugi” and “494th year of birth” printed on it, and a stamp of Kenshin Umaue will be stamped and distributed.
