Bringing you a superb view (from a drone) of Joetsu Myoko for those who cannot return to or visit the Joetsu Myoko area in Niigata Prefecture due to the COVID-19 virus. The view is of the Iwahara Vineyard and Bogaike in Joetsu City.

Iwahara Vineyard was founded by Zenbei Kawakami, the father of Japanese wine grapes. It has a history of 130 years and is the third oldest domestic winery in Japan. They continue to make wines that are loved locally as well as internationally. The total area of the vineyard is about 23ha, of which about 6ha is the wine vineyard, and they grow several varieties such as Muscat Bailey A and Black Queen.

Bogaike is a lake in the mountains of Kiyosato Ward, Joetsu City. Known as the legendary lake of the Dragon God. The circumference of the lake is about 1.7km and the depth is 33m, which is the deepest natural spring lake in Niigata prefecture. The scenery of the Myoko Mountains and Bogaike is truly superb. You can see the Takada plain from the summit of Kyogatake at an altitude of 529m, on the bank of the lake, and you can also see the Sea of Japan.
