1.Features of slopes and courses

Access to the ski resort is also attractive, as it is only a 7-minute drive from the Arai Smart IC on the Joshinetsu Expressway.

The name of the ski resort has been changed from “Lotte Alai Resort” to “Alai Snow Resort” this season.

The resort is based on the concept of a “genuine luxury mountain resort,” and was awarded Japan’s Best Ski Resort 2020 at the World Ski Awards in the past.

It is one of Asia’s top-class resort facilities recognized around the world.

The slopes are vast and are known as a sanctuary of powder snow, with 80% of the running area being unpaved.

The highest point on the slopes is 1280 meters above sea level.

The longest run is 7 km, and there are 14 courses (36% beginner, 36% intermediate, 21% advanced, 7% super advanced) with a variety of courses from beginner to advanced.

The non-pressured freeriding zone, which boasts an overwhelming amount of snow and is one of the largest in Japan, has a total of 10 areas (20% intermediate, 60% advanced, and 20% super advanced).

However, there are some courses that cannot be skied depending on the season, such as in early spring.

This season, we are starting a “Snow Guiding Service” in which guides will show you recommended powder areas depending on the weather and conditions of the day.

Experienced and locally knowledgeable guides will guide you according to the weather and snow conditions on the slopes that day and the skill level of the user.

It is also recommended for those who want to try and enjoy freeriding in the future.

There is also an English Guiding Course for foreigners.

There is a wide range of activities other than skiing and snowboarding.

In the “HIZUME” snow experience area, visitors can enjoy 15 different items such as tubing, sledding, and air-boarding (2,000 yen for 90 minutes).

Other activities include a kids’ garden, snow drive tours, snow rafting, zip tours, and giant kamakura making, as well as an indoor playground, craft experience, and indoor swimming pool, even in bad weather.

The magnificent location of the Ookenashi Mountain and the view of the ocean on a clear day make for an unparalleled experience.

3.Lunch Information

The Gondola Restaurant Village is directly connected to the first floor of the Village Station, the gondola boarding area, and offers a diverse menu.

Wagyu bukkake-don: 1,500 yen (tax included)

In addition to the hearty “Wagyu Bukkake-don” and “Wagyu Bukkake Udon”, the menu also includes “Joetsu Tonkotsu Ramen”, “Niigata Specialty Tare Katsudon”, “Nagaoka Ginger Shoyu Ramen”, and other dishes unique to Niigata.

In addition, there is a café lounge, MYOKO COFFEE, at the Village Station, and Sky Restaurant ZEN, which offers a wide range of dishes such as curry, ramen, steak, and fried chicken at the Zendana Station at the end of the Arai Gondola.
