Sales floor area 5,800㎡ and over 7,000 products!

MUJI Naoetsu will open on the second floor of the Naoetsu Shopping Center in Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture, on July 20th.  Before opening the store, we would like to introduce the inside of the store, which is the largest in the world.

The inside of the store uses cedar woods produced in Joetsu, and is made in the image of Gangi Street.

  

The total sales floor area is about 5,800 ㎡, which is the largest store in the world. MUJI has stores in 31 countries. Approximately 7,000 kinds of original food and clothing are displayed.

Despite being the biggest in the world, the concept of the store is focused on rejuvenating the local shopping experience.  MUJI aims to revitalize the area with the store as the core.

This is the “Naoetsu Ryohin Market”. In collaboration with Joetsu’s direct sales store “Arurunbatake”, there are about 100 items of vegetables and processed foods, including discounted ones that have small imperfections, centered on locally produced seasonal vegetables.

This is “the Naoetsu Ryohin Shokudo(restaurant)”.  In addition to the familiar MUJI curry, you can eat noodles, set meals, and rice bowls made with local ingredients such as “Tachibana Pork soup ramen” and “Kubiki beef ramen” for less than 800 yen. There are 160 seats.

 

“The MUJI Camp Tools” is the first MUJI store of its type to open.  The store sells more than 100 items of MUJI’s own products, in addition to over 60 items from domestic and overseas outdoor manufacturers.

 

“MUJI Books” is in the middle of the floor.  We have collected 35,000 books including cookbooks.

Next to it is “Starbucks Coffee”, where you can read up to three books over a drink, without having to buy a book.  Naoetsu is the first collaboration between MUJI Books and Starbucks.

In addition, there is a community space “Open MUJI” open to the public.  You can enjoy a break, in addition to open workshops such as study cooking classes.

There is also a space for children to play.

MUJI Naoetsu will be a pre-opening for members only selected by lottery from July 16th to 19th.  In the grand opening on July 20th, it will be limiting the entrance to 1,000 people and avoiding the “3 Cs” (Closed spaces, Crowded places, and Close-contact settings).
