A blended sake from 14 breweries in Joetsu and Myoko! SAKE Festival limited “Sogakari” will be released on Saturday, October 23rd.

The “Mini Echigo Kenshin SAKE Festival 2021” will be held in Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture on October 23rd (Sat) and 24th (Sun).  Along with this event, a new blended sake “Sogakari,” limited to the SAKE Festival will be on sale from Saturday, 23rd of October.  This limited sake is made by blending sake from 14 breweries in the Joetsu region.

“Sogakari” was developed with the hope that the COVID-19 will be contained as soon as possible.  This is a new limited sake, blended with sake from 14 breweries in the Joetsu region that are participating in this year’s SAKE Festival.  Sake breweries, liquor stores, and restaurants have been stagnant due to COVID-19 pandemic.  In order to work together to confront this situation, the name “Sogakari”(“solidarity”) was devised.

Mr. Kenichiro Ikeda, from “Chiyo no Hikari Sake Brewery” in Myoko City, which undertook the production, said, “I’ve never heard of sake that is a blend of 14 types of sake.  The mixing ratio is a secret.  As a matter of course, 14 sake was not divided into equally but was mixed while tasting to give it a high-quality flavor.  The taste is finished with a light white peach-like aroma and the soft sweetness that is characteristic of sake from the Joetsu Myoko region.”

Sogakari will be sold exclusively at 71 liquor stores in Joetsu City and Myoko City, Niigata Prefecture.

In addition to the release, there is a campaign offering a coupon for 1,000 yen when you purchase “Sogakari.”  This coupon can be used for eating, drinking and shopping at participating stores.
