The autumn gondola business will start on Saturday, October 9th at the Myoko Suginohara Ski Resort in Myoko City, Niigata Prefecture, in time for the autumn leaves.
The gondola at Myoko Suginohara Ski Resort has a total length of 3,074m. From the gondola platform to the mountaintop station at an altitude of about 1,500 m, you can enjoy a 15-minute one-way sightseeing tour of the sky.
From the observation deck of the viewing spot near the mountaintop station, the mountains of Kita Shinano are in the foreground and Lake Nojiri is located below. You can even see Mt. Fuji when the weather is fine.
Around the mountaintop station, there is a “wetland walking path in the southern foothills of Mt. Akakura” where many broad-leaved trees such as beech and oak grow naturally. You can enjoy viewing the autumn leaves and bathing in the forest’s untouched nature.
As a measure against COVID-19 this year, the only passengers on the gondola will be family members and people in the same group.
Mr. Uchida of Myoko Suginohara Ski Resort Sales said, “The good thing about the gondola is that everyone can enjoy the scenery while sitting. There are also famous places such as Naena Waterfall in the vicinity. Please avoid the crowds and enjoy the nature.”.
